Big news! The Release Candidate (RC) of Lync Server 2010 has been released today and is available for download at Microsoft Download: Microsoft Lync Server 2010 RC.

Lync Server 2010 seems to be the new name for, what was previously known as Communications Server “14” (codename). The latest generation of the Office Communications Server product suite from Microsoft.

It’s not official from Microsoft yet, but several tweets and a blog post from ZDNET indicate this already, plus Microsoft already made the name available at Microsoft Download and on the TechNet blogs.

The Planning Tool is also available as download.

To get an overview over what’s now in CS "14" Lync server, there’s a series of videos available.

Colabora.dk (The new Danish UC User Group) is hosting an event on June 29th in Ballerup (Copenhagen).

The topics of the event is Communication Server 14 and Exchange 2010 SP1, along with info. about the UC usergroup.
