Something that went a bit unnoticed last week, the Exchange Team released the latest Exchange Rollup Updates, they are all available as downloads from Microsoft Download or from the Windows Update. Search for mails with Get-MessageTracking using wildcards

Here are some updated field notes from a recent message tracking case. This post is also an update of a previous post about MessageTracking I made about a year ago.

Unfortunately the Tracking Log tool in Exchange Management Console (EMC) – does not allow the use of wildcard characters, when trying to search of all mails sent or received from a certain domain. EMC can only handle a specific user or list of users.

However using the Exchange Management Shell and the cmdlet Get-MessageTracking, you are able to use wildcards in your search.

Below I have listed two examples to search for all mails sent from the “msdigest.net” domain and received from the “msdigest.net”.

Wave 15 is now RTM

Great news from Microsoft last week. They announced the Released to Manufacturing (RTM) of the wave 15 products, which are: Exchange 2013 Lync 2013 SharePoint 2013 Office 2013 The RTM bits should be available on TechNet/MSDN/Volume Licensing from mid-november. General availability is planned for the first quarter of 2013. Exchange 2013 For co-existence with Exchange 2010 or 2007, updates for both 2010/2007 is required. Exchange 2010 Service Pack 3 Announced

The Exchange Team has just announced the Service Pack 3 for Exchange Server 2010. It is currently scheduled for release in first half of 2013. The SP3 will as expected include support for Co-existence with Exchange 2013 and also support for installing Exchange 2010 on Windows Server 2012.
